The Barnstormers Theater

If you want to see a theater production, then the Barnstormers Theater it is. They often schedule shows which change by the season. Most are based around British and American classics, so there is sure to be something you will enjoy.

The building itself was founded in 1931 by Grover Cleveland’s son.

Tamworth Lyceum

Just down the road from the Barnstormers Theater is the Tamworth Lyceum. Once you have seen a wonderful production (or even before) you can grab a cup of coffee and check out its speciality store.

The place often hosts a number of music acts too by local live artists. There is also a distillery on site, and many people from the community gather here.

White Lake

Whether you have an active family, or you like to do things solo, then you will love White Lake. Not only is there a beautiful glacial lake, but there are many activities to do at the state park that surrounds it.

From camping and hiking, all the way to boating and swimming in the lake, you will be spoiled with choice when it comes to things to do here.

Remick Country Doctor Museum And Farm

The Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm is an agriculture site that is self-sustained. It is a great place to visit, especially since it has not changed much since the 1800s.

It has preserved the life and documents of yesteryear making it a very interesting place to visit.

Lake Chocorua

While not in Tamworth itself, it is so close by that we had to include it. At Lake Chocorua you can swim, kayak and canoe. There are also great hiking trails and the views are stunning. You will be able to see Mount Chocorua. 

If you do like the sound of hiking, we recommend you walk along the hiking trails which circle around the lake. There are also trails that lead their way to the summit area of the mountain.

White Lake Speedway Inc

Whether you are looking for a fun activity to do, or there is a birthday coming up, White Lake Speedway Inc is a great place to visit.

It offers visitors the chance to ride go-karts around its fun tracks, and there is even an option to play some golf on the mini course. 

The place specializes in birthday parties too (see also ‘Indoor Birthday Party Places NH‘), offering the chance to have a game of golf and three rides in the go-kart.

Monkey Trunks

If you are looking for some fun in Tamworth, the Monkey Trunks is the place to be. Here you are connected to a rope system (a zipline for safety) while making your way across bridges. You will also be swinging your way across the platforms and other obstacles.

It is really fun, especially if you are looking to entertain the kids.

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

If you or a family member loves all things pirates, then Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf should be on your list of things to do. Based around pirates, the themed golf courses are not only fun, but look great too.

From waterfalls, footbridges and caves, as well as other well crafted and unique landscapes, this place can be enjoyed by all.

Mount Chocorua

Near the top of the list we mentioned Lake Chocorua. If you are looking to enjoy hiking, then you will like both Mount Chocorua and its surrounding areas.

To get to the summit you will need to walk along the 10 mile trail that gets you there. From here you will also see Mount Washington.

Saco Canoe Rental Company

The Saco Canoe Rental Company offers its visitors tours along the Saco River. You can opt for a 5 or 11 miles day trip. There is also the option to camp overnight too, which also involves canoeing.

Riding In The Clouds

Close by is Riding in the Clouds. They offer children and adults the chance to horseback ride through a number of different trails, often through wooded areas situated at the riding stables. 

Another option is to have a horse drawn carriage experience, or let your child have the experience of going on a children only trail.

Castle In The Clouds

Joining the cloud theme is the Castle in the Clouds, a mansion built in 1914. Not only can you take part in a tour of its 16 rooms, but you will be able to take in the breathtaking views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the mountains that surround it.
