The practice focuses on non-surgical, science-backed treatments that support healing, help patients avoid invasive procedures, and improve long-term function. Dr. Shober offers a wide range of therapies, including:

What makes the practice stand out is not just the services they offer, but the philosophy behind them: support the body’s natural ability to heal rather than mask symptoms or jump straight to surgery.

Greystone Regenerative Medicine

My First Experience: Treating a Meniscal Tear With PRP Therapy

A while back, I suffered a meniscal injury in my right knee. It wasn’t the kind of injury that made life impossible, but it absolutely held me back from the things I love—lifting weights, squatting, lunging, and staying active.

For a long time, I found myself avoiding certain movements. And anyone who’s into fitness knows that once you stop doing certain lifts, everything else starts to fall apart too.

I wanted a solution that didn’t involve surgery and downtime, so I booked an appointment with Dr. Shober.

The Consultation

What struck me right away was how deeply he listened. He wasn’t rushed. He wasn’t trying to “sell” me on anything. He sat with me, asked thoughtful questions, examined my knee, and explained—in detail—the different options available.

His approach felt collaborative. He made sure I understood what PRP was, how it works, what the research says, and what I could realistically expect. It never felt like hype. It felt like honest, informed guidance.

We ultimately decided to move forward with PRP therapy.

The PRP Treatment

I won’t sugarcoat it: PRP injections into a knee joint are not the most comfortable experience. But the procedure was extremely professional, clean, and efficient.

After the injection, he gave me very clear aftercare instructions—what to expect, what not to do, what to look for, and how to support the healing process.

And then… we waited.

PRP is not an instant fix. It stimulates healing over weeks and months, not days.

But here’s the part that matters:

It worked.

Over time, my knee became stronger, more stable, and far less painful. I returned to exercising again—squats, lunges, deadlifts—the movements I had been avoiding for nearly a year.

And in the process of getting active again, I went on to lose 80+ pounds, which has been one of the most transformative improvements in my life.

I left this testimonial on Google because it was absolutely true:

“Dr. Shrober saw me some time ago for a meniscal tear that was preventing me from working out and lifting weights as I wanted to. We talked through options and ultimately went with a PRP treatment. While the treatment in my knee joint wasn’t the most fun thing I ever did I can happily report that it did in fact help improve the health of my knee over time. I can now squat, lunge and deadlift again which I wasn’t able to do a year ago. I have since lost 80+ pounds and getting back into great shape! Thanks Dr. Shober!”

That alone would have made me a lifelong patient.
But then came injury number two.

My Second Experience: Healing an Injured Axillary Nerve in My Shoulder

Recently, I injured the axillary nerve in my right shoulder after a Scooter accident while visiting Nashville TN. If you’ve never experienced nerve issues, it’s a very different pain and limitation than muscle or joint injuries. Everything feels “off”—weak, unstable, unpredictable.

In fact, I couldn’t even lift my right arm above 45 degrees and the Docs at Concord Ortho said its possible that the nerve may never heal. They did an EMG test and there was Zero electrical activity in the Anterior and Lateral heads of my Right Deltoid. Thankfully the rear delt had some activity so that was a good sign.

When I first went in to see Dr. Shober for this, my shoulder was in rough shape:

I couldn’t lift my arm above 45 degrees.

Think about that for a second.
No reaching up.
No lifting.
No normal daily movement.

And worst of all—no training.

I had fallen in love with lifting weights so this setback gutted me.

I went back to Dr. Shober because I trusted him and because my previous experience with him had been so positive.

Shockwave Therapy & Laser Therapy: A Powerful Combination

After assessing the shoulder and diagnosing the axillary nerve involvement, he recommended a combination of:

  • Shockwave therapy to stimulate healing and break up dysfunctional tissue
  • Class IV laser therapy to reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery

I didn’t know much about either of these therapies before, but he explained everything step-by-step, including the science behind it and why it was the right approach for this type of injury.

The treatments themselves were painless and quick—but incredibly effective.

The Results

Here’s the part that still amazes me:

When I started therapy, I had only 45 degrees of movement.

Now I have full range of motion with zero pain.

Not only can I lift my arm overhead again, but my strength is steadily returning too. Everyday activities are back to normal, and I’m able to train with confidence instead of hesitation.

This turnaround—from severely limited movement to full mobility—has been nothing short of life-changing.

It took about 8 sessions to get this point. I am continuing to see Dr. Shrober to get it back to perfect but we have come a long way!!

What Makes Dr. Shober Different

I’ve seen a lot of medical professionals over the years—specialists, orthopedists, physical therapists, chiropractors, trainers. Some are great. Some are average. Some are… not the best.

To some they just want to do surgery because that’s all they know….that was the last option I wanted to consider….

But Dr. Nathaniel Shober stands out for several reasons:

He listens deeply.

You feel heard, not rushed. He takes your goals seriously.

He explains your options instead of pushing one solution.

PRP wasn’t my only option, but it was the right one. For my shoulder, shockwave + laser was a perfect strategy.

He combines science-backed medicine with practical, real-world outcomes.

His treatments aren’t woo-woo. They’re evidence-based and delivered by someone who clearly understands the underlying physiology.

He focuses on function.

It’s not just about “reducing pain”—it’s about getting you back to the life you want.

His bedside manner is calm, friendly, and confidence-building.

You walk out feeling hopeful, not confused.

You never feel like “just another patient.”

He remembers your story, follows your progress, and genuinely cares about the outcome.
